You can get zombies by swiping.

(This is accurate, but not useful).

Swiping is a new method of "clicking" (aka the typing of numbers) that has been/is being developed in beta. It is still in testing form, but basically it will register touches against the touch screen of your device (phone, tablet, ipod) as a click for a credit.

This is inherently much stronger than traditional clicking, since you don't really need to pay any visual or mental attention to it, and it is possible to do it faster for a longer period of time. This has been partially remedied by the adjustment of clicks counting double. Even so, we are seeing previously unheard-of levels of clicking, even in a beta age, so the verdict is still out as to whether or not it's truly balanced yet.

Zombies are simply a count of all of your soldiers and spies/sentries that have died. It used to be there just for fun (you should make fun of people who are lazy enough to let their soldiers die), but there was a Grave Robbing event that would add 20 TBG per zombie once per turn. In this beta, the Grave Robbing event is pretty silly, as it provides 200 TBG per zombie per MINUTE, so it is essentially a tenfold+ extreme version of the Gold Rush event, and anyone who is online can burn hundreds of turns on huge piles of gold with ease. So basically, you don't want to have zombies yourself, but you want to be online when that event comes around.

This started out as a snarky one-liner and ended up being a legitimate reply. o_O
