stonewall, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons: - Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system? - If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

spam
vt.,vi.,n. [from "Monty Python's Flying Circus"]
1. To crash a program by overrunning a fixed-size buffer with excessively large input data. See also buffer overflow (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/buffer%20overflow), overrun screw (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/overrun%20screw), smash the stack (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/smash%20the%20stack).
2. To cause a newsgroup to be flooded with irrelevant or inappropriate messages. You can spam a newsgroup with as little as one well- (or ill-) planned message (e.g. asking "What do you think of abortion?" on soc.women). This is often done with cross-post (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/cross-post)ing (e.g. any message which is crossposted to alt.rush-limbaugh and alt.politics.homosexuality will almost inevitably spam both groups). This overlaps with troll (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/troll) behavior; the latter more specific term has become more common.
3. To send many identical or nearly-identical messages separately to a large number of Usenet newsgroups. This is more specifically called `ECP', Excessive Cross-Posting. This is one sure way to infuriate nearly everyone on the Net. See also velveeta (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/velveeta) and jello (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/jello).
4. To bombard a newsgroup with multiple copies of a message. This is more specifically called `EMP', Excessive Multi-Posting.
5. To mass-mail unrequested identical or nearly-identical email messages, particularly those containing advertising. Especially used when the mail addresses have been culled from network traffic or databases without the consent of the recipients. Synonyms include UCE (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/UCE), UBE (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/UBE).
6. Any large, annoying, quantity of output. For instance, someone on IRC who walks away from their screen and comes back to find 200 lines of text might say "Oh no, spam".

The later definitions have become much more prevalent as the Internet has opened up to non-techies, and to most people senses 3 4 and 5 are now primary. All three behaviors are considered abuse of the net, and are almost universally grounds for termination of the originator's email account or network connection. In these senses the term `spam' has gone mainstream, though without its original sense or folkloric freight - there is apparently a widespread myth among luser (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/luser)s that "spamming" is what happens when you dump cans of Spam into a revolving fan.

To be fair - The response on the forums have nothing to do with Ruins of chaos, Therefore they isn't any need for this thread to be posted in the roc part of the forums?...

I will never understand how someone that directly attacks people outside of Spam forums (examples include saying a certain player cruises gay bars or that a certain mod shows favoritism to a certain clan) can act as the moral compass for GUA forums. Intellectual honesty is an endangered commodity and if you're gonna use suggestive language without being penalized, don't cry about it when you see it in other places around these forums.

Also, you should all be thankful Are is here. He is the best "non-serious business" mod on GUA. Go live in the KOC forums for a day, let us know how much more enjoyable it is...now THAT would be an interesting post.

@Shane, the reason Stonewall Cooter posted this in the ROC section was because he wanted attention from ROC people. Look at the amount of times he's posted in his own thread cheering himself on.

Hm.

Stonewall, you know you can find me on IRC to come speak to me, right?

--> Shane is right.

If anyone doesn't like GUA, either PM an administrator, leave a comment in the feedback (http://www.giveupalready.com/forumdisplay.php?f=344) forum (which submits a post anonymously anyway). Quit GUA. Or learn to ignore.

FYI we thought it'd be amusing to make that the post for not enough permission to do something. TITS OR GTFO is a meme and is humorous to some degree. Although we may change it in the future.
