Shadowed: Why don't you just back off the guy's nuts instead of acting like a dick to him.

I thought the last couple were mildly amusing, he probably has a plot leading up to them. Also I think he should change the sign to "Work MOAR"

We don't have to act like assholes and try to scare away someone that's doing something different. Honestly if you don't like it why bother?

what do you want me to do, lie and tell him i think it's great?
if you think something sucks, then you say it sucks. so far everyone involved has said it gets funny later on, yet insist on putting lame ones up anyway? i agree with shadowed, cut to the funny [if it is funny] and have done with it.

I don't like it so far, I'm sorry, but I don't.
And this isn't the first webcomic! There are a slew of webcomics that me and Elmdor and other people have done out there. In fact, I still have all of mine.
And shouldn't a webcomic that's made primarily for GUA focus on what is going in GUA? I think that would be much funnier. The webcomics used to be a way of GUA-social commentary or a piece of GUA history. They were original.
Elmdor made a whole entire GUA-cast out of sprite comics!

The problem is that they were full of jokes that only GUA veterans understood, so they were essentially a form of self-gratification, not an attractant.
Granted that is very true. I didn't know we were basically attempting to create a marketing webcomic to attract new members.
In that case this comic is LESS attracting. People are going to think that we don't have any "funnehz" here.

@ sav: Thanks for the comments, I agree if you don't like comic, just say, that's fair enough.
@ Shadowed: I can "cut to the funny" as you say, the only reason I'm not doing so is that I'm uploading them in order. I guess it's down to the powers-that-be (tech admin etc) to decide whether they're happy to jump some or not. Still can't guarantee side-splitting hilarity though, lol.
If there are other webcomics available, why not speak to those who run the website, and get a Forum set up for those as well? That way everyone is happy. The more the merrier! However, please bear in mind that as far as I'm aware, this webcomic is yet to "go live" on this site. As I understand it, there will be a announcement made in The Noticeboard section, in order to drum up some more interest. As it is, I think Carnage is still testing the code.
One more thing I will say is this: You clearly care a lot about the quality and content of this website, which is a good thing. However consider this: Tau and Carnage kindly offered to let me display my stuff on this website, which I do, and the first and only impression I get of this site is people like Shadowed mouthing off right, left and centre.
You claim that your worried my webcomic might mean you "might get even fewer new members", however AS a new member, I'm hardly seeing many reasons to bother staying. If you have criticism of my work, that's fine, but comments like "a webcomic that sucks a mighty dick" or "a shitty ripoff" achieve nothing but make G.U.A appear hostile, arrogant and off-putting. And It hardly acts as a good incentive for anyone else thinking about submitting a comic idea as you suggested.
Not only this, but I doubt that my comic will act as a draw. I imagine most people will arrive for the forum content/chat side of things and stay for that. I'd guess the comic will be a "added extra" as it were. If they don't like it, they don't have to view it. They're not paying for it, it's not compulsory viewing, they're not auto-directed to my work. They'll only view it if they choose to. I fail to see any reason why my stuff would make them want to leave. If they're that easily swayed, chances are they would have left for some reason or the other anyway.
Anyhoo, rant over  :sneakout:
P.S @ soup "Work MOAR" noted...:icon_laug

"The beginning is always difficult" applies here, I guess. I'm not seeing anything specific or unique, but then again, I doubt you can get an accurate picture from only three comics. From the webcomics I read on the hinterknetz, they all begin poorly and get better as time passes. >_> Unless the artist making the comic happens to be someone who actually does it for a living.
-.-; Of course, I don't actually have a functional sense of humour. Or any authority. I'm not dislikin' what I'm seeing, though.

We need a seperate forum for every single webcomic? ._. I thought having multiple subfora was a big no-no.

Ah, sorry. Didn't realise this was an issue. My bad. :imslow:

Not so much an issue as there being a more practical and less time-consumptive-on-the-admin's-part solution for it, at least in my eyes. Given that there's only one comic using up the entire webcomic forum I hardly see a problem if SeņorStarDeDark would also begin uploading his comics to this place. Or anyone else for that matter.
The whole 'each webcomic is it's own thread' is a bit odd to begin with, but that's just me.
We did at one point have an older webcomic sub-forum before this one that somehow in the time that I had left GUA disappeared.
That is true and I think it dissapeared in mergers since it saw little use. The only things I recall about it are Elmdor's comics, one comic made by doos and some pieces done by LT3.
