Fair Blood Mercenaries

This is the IC thread for the FBM. Any OOC talk should be taken to the tavern (link below).

Motto:
For gold we serve.

Purpose (short):
To increase the skills, gold and weapons of members by completing contracts or organising quests.

Purpose (long):
Each member in the FBM will be for hire for protection or accompaniment on dangerous missions. With the money earned the FBM will buy weapons of the highest quality to lend to their members. When not out on payed missions the members will be trained in their skills, or maybe influenced in more exotic ways.

In some cases weapons might be lent out to non-dojo members for a price. Normally this would be something like siege weapons, horses or similar but it could be smaller weapons or armour.

When a member is hired 50% of the gold goes to the clan, and the remaining 50% to the character.

Location:
There are FBM wings in Rurian, Linmotar, Mekong and Naan.

Possible Applicants:
Anyone. Mercenaries can see their time in the FBM as either to gain gold, experience, protect others, gain revenge against the DG or many more individually specific reasons.

How to join: Post in this thread RPing your character asking to join. In OOC fill out this about your character:

Name
Type:
Character link:
Reason for joining (IC):

Roles of members:

Rank Descriptions:

Commander: The commander has first pick of assignments and plans quests. He/she also approves all purchases by the dojo.

General: When the commander is not present then the General has control over the members of the dojo.

Seated Members: Some members might feel the need to rank themselves within the Dojo. Such members can fight for one of four possible seated rankings. Seats are from 1 to 4 and are for the top four people of the dojo below the Commander. Fights to determine Seats are taken in the Firne Isles.

Elite Mercenaries: The elites are strong characters with at least one high-high skill and gain the title of ‘Elite’ in front of their member type. They have gone on countless missions and have proven themselves strong fighters and so cost more to hire.

Mercenaries: These are the grunts of the FBM. Even though they have a low rank their skills should not be underestimated, a long term grunt can hold their own against any foe. They are assigned tasked by higher ranked members and while not on specific duties normally work for the clan getting gold or weapons or improving their skills.

Member Types:

Warrior: A warrior is a top-of-the-class fighter. They master weapon abilities or unarmed combat, but shy away from magic.

Mage: Those that favour magic over physical combat. These members have spells and lots of them, but little weapons skills.

Battle Mage: A rare breed in days past there are now a lot of people that mix both magic and fighting. These people are nearly exactly half way between all physical abilities and all magical abilities.

Assassin: These are the sneaky, the quite and the deadly. Members in this type are stealthy but also have means in which to kill.

Engineer: The engineers are the people that make things. This could be weapons, like swords or shield to siege weapons of immense size. Any ability to make something puts you here.

Healer: While others use magic to hurt, Healers use their magic to heal. Priceless in a battle these are a respected part of the mercenaries even though they are not killers.

Two men wandered around the crowded market place. Each one carried several pieces of wood, but not much else. The men moved over near a bench and quickly set up a make shift vendor's stall, but rather than sticking out items of value they simply stuck a big sign 'Fair Blood Mercenaries' above the stall. Then both men sat down and waited.

On the desk they had left two books, one said "Required Services" the other "Wishing to join". Each had simple instructions, write your name.

Ouder had escaped from the guard and now wandered around thinking what his next steps in his training would be. He could run on his 4 paws again but he still had pain in his left upper arm. He had no bandages or anything with him to take care of it so he should get his arm fixed by someone else. He wandered over a dirt road looking for a small settlement when he saw a band of warriors up ahead. They had set camp next too the road and were roasting some meat. The lizard lived of insects he grabbed with his long tong so the meat didn't attract him. Maybe they can tell me where I can find some treatment.

Rising up to his 2 feet he walked slowly to the group of four men. Two of them were armed with a bow, one with a sword and another one with a long spear. It looked more like a hunting party to be honest. Ouder walked to the man closest by with his hand palms turned upwards in a gesture of peace and him being unarmed. The men couldn't know he was a mage so the creature looked a helpless easy target.
I'm sorry to bother you but I got robbed not far from here and they slashed my upper left arm open. I'm in need of treatment and I'm looking for a settlement with a doctor nearby. You wouldn't know by any chance where I could go for this purpose?

The men looked at Ouder. The oldest of them -though he couldn't be older then 35- stood up.
It's dangerous to travel alone and unarmed. That's the way you get robbed mate. If you want you can come with us to the next town. We're leaving as soon as we're done eating. It's about an hour to the town of Marsh just down this road.
Thank you for the warning and the invitation but I rather travel alone.
Having said this, the lizard dropped to his 4 paws again and without giving them another look he started running to the next town. He had no watch so he didn't knew how long it had taken to get there but the sun had now raised to the top so it had to be noon soon.

In settlements he walked on his 2 feet most of the time to not attract too much attention, as he didn't liked people staring at him. It had something to do with the way the most looked at him; they drew a face like he was some dirt that everyone avoided, something less then them, crawling on 4 paws. It made him angry but he wasn't strong enough to take on a village by himself, far from it to be honest. So he entered the village on his 2 feet and asked a young girl with two blond ponytails where he could find a doctor. The girl smiled at him and laughed warmly. She showed him the way to the doctor and then she bowed while still having a big smile on her face.

After leaving the doctor he wanted to get out of the village as soon as possible again so he followed the main road to the other side of Marsh. On his way he passed the crowdy citysquare with a stall. The name was Fair Blood Mercenaries and it attracted him. He went to take a look and saw two men sitting behind a book each. One had the label "Required Services", the other "Applications". This brought him to thinking.
Maybe if I join a group of battleworn warriors and mages I can maybe find someone that will teach me more about the dark arts.
He stood their thinking for some minutes and then he decided what to do.
Instead of taking up the feather to write his name in the book he simply dropped one of his right hand claws in the ink and wrote "Ouder Nebriska, Mage of the Dark Arts".

As Shaolioth and Hathiur approached Caprice they decided that Shaolioth should find a master to train him further in all forms of combat as having extra combat styles up ursleave to help out in a scrape. First priority would be to find a well equiped and supported band of warriors as they would be able to offer both practice training and real world experience. While he trained up Hathiur would return to the mountains and give the report to Fzothchu. And so the two parted ways.

As Hathiur flew back to the mountains Shaolioth wandered through Caprice looking for someone he thought may beable to assist him either by training him or directing him to someone who could. Finally he found a blacksmith the grumpy dwarf inside told him to try the Fair Blood Mercenaries and that he could find their stall in the main market area. So Shaolioth set off for the markets.

When Shaolioth arived at the markets he quickly found the Fair Blood Mercenaries stall and approached it. He saw two men and two books. The books were labled "Required Services" and "Wishing to join". As he had two needs he engaged the men in a conversation "Hi im Shaolioth and I was wondering if there was any way I could get some combat training. Im also looking for some companions who I can rely on during difficult times. So would i sign the book of "Required Services" or the other "Wishing to join". And if you will have me are there any jobs for me to do at the moment?"

OOC: I wa thinking that they could mention that something was happening in Linmotar and that I should travel there 2 find out more.
