If I have 15 soldiers and 16 weapons. Will the 16th weapon do anything in battle?

No, u use the number of weapon that have soldiers to hold. Which mean if u have 15 soldiers ur power is only the 15 weapons the last weapon won't affect anything.

Oh, ok.

What should I do then?

I have 15 Attack Specialists, 16 weapons.

25 Spies and 1 Spy Tool.

Nothing else.

Unequipped weapons don't sustain damage though, and they are not destroyed by sabotage.

In the past, if you had 16 weps and only 15 soldiers to hold them, and wep #16 was sabbbbed, it was one of the weps used to defend the attack, and therefore broken.

In short, sabbed weps were used first...

True, but for the middle-rank players, usually IS's and BPM's are unsabbable,
so the lower weapons would be sabbed. If you only keep soldiers for each IS/BPM, the lower weapons won't be used in battle, so not destroyed.

A trained Merc will also equip an unused weapon at full strength.

if you use untrained merc then it will be less additional SA than if you hold it with trained merc

Untrained soldiers can use that extra weapon, but will only be 4/5's as powerful as a trained soldier with the weapon
