sorry if this is the wrong place to post, but this does involve an actual question.

so i've been playing for about 5 ages now, and i've never been part of an alliance or chain of command. now i'm looking for a commander or alliance, but now i have a question.

i feel like a complete noob as i ask this, but, what are the benefits of having a commander?

i don't get more gold or soldiers, and i'm one of those people who wouldn't feel right going to their alliance every time they get farmed or attacked while online, especially since it happens to me fairly frequently. is that basically it? i'm just not sure how that stuff works, but don't want to join up with other people and have them dependent on me when i'm just figuring stuff out for the first time.

You do get more men, at least 5 a day some give credits so you can get more men a day.

mostly protection though.

other thing is making friends.
