I just realized that we could play a game of assassins on GUA if we really wanted to. You just need the following extra rules:
1. The option to hide you from visible online members has to be disabled.
2. When your target is in the same forum as you and no one else, you take a screen cap and upload it as an attachment. And then you PM the person telling them that they've been eliminated.

Anyone interested?

If I knew how to play, I could say for definate. However, some sort of forum game sounds like fun.

hahaha

I can see if people are invisible so we can just work that bit on an honor system we me checking to beat the crap out of anyone that cheats. Okay, not really an honor system, but whatever.

I'll make a thread in GD; maybe we can start it in a few hours...

Way to encourage people not to post or be online at all!

Assassins only works in real life with toy guns and stuff.

Edit: Wait, this is a genius idea! I'll play!

2. When your target is in the same forum as you and no one else

it all sounds like a good and fun idea, but then the admins would have to take away the forum statistics part at the bottom as you would be constantly refreshing the "whos online" section and what thread/forum they are viewing.

this would be a great time to put stealth back in... for those of you that don't know, stealth is an advanced form of invisibility, no-one can see you :p

Actually, I still can.

Sorry for the bump but I guess it's still on topic. Sort of.

Now that Assassins has its own misc clan to play assassins as a freeform game, I had the coolest idea. Basically, members would be put into a special usergroup. So basically, when they're browsing the forum, there's a little "dagger" image next to the who's online, reputation, and report this post images. There'd also be an option in their pull-down menu called "assassinate". Only members who are a member of the assassins' club would see the dagger, and only members who are a member of the club would have the dagger appear next to their posts/be an option in their "click on the name, drop down menu". When you click on the dagger, a script would be activated to see if any other member (guests don't count) are in the forum at the time. If there aren't, the target gets "killed". That means that they can't be killed again for 24 hours, and can't kill anyone in that time. A PM would be sent to the victim telling them that they've been assassinated by so-and-so and won't be able to play until hours:minutes tomorrow. A PM could also be sent to the attacker which says that the attack was successful and outputs his new score.

To prevent abuse of the system, a maximum of three kill attempts could be made against a single person per day.

The script would also have a score-keeping feature that would track high scores like the arcade does. The score keeping would track kills:deaths. This information could be output into the arcade, or it could be so that when you click on a link the scores would be PMed to you.

Finally, the script would provide the top assassin with the custom usertitle of "master assassin". So it would be updated in real time without admin intervention.

Does that sound like it would be possible? Given my (admittedly limited) knowledge of programming, this sounds like it should be.

It sounds doable, though it would be very hard to.

The idea seems nice, and I would sure like to play it.

The whole assassin element sounds good. the bullseye the best idea. And those proposals are also very clever.
I like.

Now, now... Let's focus on getting one thing at a time.

Personally, the embedded assassins system would be far cooler and better and more practical than an element. So, I personally think we should see if we can get that. I mean, it can be like priority L (or Z...) for Carnage and Company, but I'm more interested in knowing whether there's a chance of it happening at all.

And if that falls through and once the Assassins are established and around for a couple of months, we can start asking for an element. Otherwise, the whole group will look like a bunch of weiners. Errr... whiners. Whatever.
