It's a lot of work to start a new alliance. If you're interested in starting one, I'd recommend going to www.invisionfree.com or another site where you can make a free forum, and then find at least 4 other friends to sign up on the forum. Once you have 5 registered members, you can request a thread in the round table, using the Alliance Thread Request Sub-Forum.

But, starting an alliance is not easy. You might get 1 member for every 20 posts in your alliance's thread...The larger alliances have a decisive advantage right now.

But...always keep positive, try to get all your friends in the clan you want to make, your officers etc, try to "recruit" people on mirc to join your clan, show them where you stand for, what your thoughts are etc. It's a lot of work, maintaining and creating the forums your going to use, etc etc. But it's definitly worth it!! But as stated before, it's a lot of work, very time consuming and you really have to be able to spend that time on it, otherwise it won't work!

Definitely use invisionfree. You need to get a few dedicated members, and show you will help all you can. You also should get backing from another alliance(especially a sab alliance). You also yourself need a lot of spy to help sab, and scare people.

I think it's important for any respectable alliance to have one active member in the top 500. If you can't make that sort of rank, I'd try asking around, and making offers to get the support of someone who has that sort of rank.

Most alliances that are considered powerful have a member (or leader) on pages 1 or at least 2, who consider that alliance to be their primary alliance. But as long as you can say you have someone in the top 500, that's generally enough muscle to handle the typical problems members might have, with smaller alliances at least.

Believe me, having someone with a decent rank makes recruitment vastly easier. My alliance has had at times 5 active members on page 1--Perhaps only one of them visited daily, but it just goes to show you that it isn't that hard to recruit high ranking players, if you know how to do it correctly. (Of course, it's best when you are able to help players get onto the top pages, but that takes considerable resources that new alliances just don't have.)

Invisionfree is good, but i would recommend proboards for new players because it is easier to use.. u can always move to invision once ur getting more members :)

starting an alliance is A LOT of work. I recently started one (about a month ago?) and we have maybe 19 members. Since half of the people are my friends, we've only managed to recruit maybe 9 or 10 people.

what do I suggest for starting your alliance?
-use invisionfree forums (proboards = death)
-get all your friends on
-get a clicker, or use a public one
-have some power so you can protect your members
-ally with other alliances

something to also keep in mind is that recruiting is the hardest part. you have to convice someone that your alliance is better than others, and if you lie about what you offer people will probably just leave. you have to make your alliance unique by offering something special, and then people will join you. there's a lot of members here which have been in alliances and left in disgust (I'm one of them) ask your members what they think you can do to make the alliance better. maybe give them an officer or something.

some tips on recruiting?
-make your alliance stand out
-get a message board
-offer support, and show your members you care
-get your friends, and their friends on KoC and in the alliance
-don't send recruit messages in KoC, people ignore them
-don't try and scare people into joining (like "ill sab u less u join")
-make ways to keep people's interest and commitment in the alliance
-try to make a way for possible members to see what they're getting (everyone can view and post on my forums, not just members)
-and above all, dont make promises you can't keep to your members

you have to maintain your alliance as well. it's not as simple as making it then ditching it. you have to mod your forums, answer pms, announce news, and try to keep making your alliance better. maybe our alliances could ally :)

Nice post m8 ;)

Like he said, use invisionfree as forum, it's easy to use and you can add a new skin to your forum or hacks (whatever you want :P) and the admin features are the best part of invisionfree (just check it out m8)

* Offer something that will keep your members active
* Always build up an alliance with someone else (never ever do things on your own)
* Promote active people to moderator (others will see this and want this too and start to be more active... Could be...)
* Be original
* Choose a good name that will atract members (make it eyecatching)

i could add lot's of more helpfull things but this is enough for now

heres a tip for all invisionfree users. if you want a really cool look for your forums, go here (http://www.ifskinzone.net) to find a lot of them. Go to their forums and make an ID, and you can view over 3000!!! different skins and their css (coding to copy into the admin cp)
I use one on my board myself, and it rocks!
