I've been looking and haven't found any site that can help me with this. I need to find out what .= means in Perl. I'm told it's not the same as regular = so ...

Any help?

Something .= somethingelse

Game cheating! You were supposed to use google marushia.

Maru, don't you ever look at operator lists? :p

Past that of course, what are you using Perl for? About the only thing it's truly useful for is string manipulation, and if you were using it for that I'd hope you knew such things as the RE inclusion syntax for Perl, let alone basic operators.

Z0rr0 That's sort of the point :P You're supposed to learn. But that's the only question that uses perl

And asking Carnage to teach me something about Perl isn't the same thing? I didn't ask for the answer to the game, I asked for information to find the answer, namely the purpose of a specific operand. It's no different than looking it up on Google or in a book, so long as I learn what .= means.
