Sometimes it happens that to the forums, because the servers suck. Spend your cash log out and go back later.

There are many things that could be wrong with your computer. It could be that your comp is infested with viruses, spyware, or you just don't clear your comp's logs. It's also possible that you internet connection is somehow damaged or is just having trouble connecting. If you have the ad muncher proxy switcher on, it might be stuck trying to use the same proxy over and over, and sucking up about half of your comp's ability to function. Or, you might just have a crappy comp, and need to buy a newer one. You have to be more specific about the problems your having.

That's what I said when I put linux on a 7-10 year old Windows ME box. It runs plenty well now. :nixpengui
Anyways, if your PC is running slow, you may very well have spyware. Try running a full system scan with Ad-Aware (http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10399602.html?tag=pop). Quarantine any infections. Also, try Spybot (http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10401314.html?tag=lst-0-1). It catches some stuff Ad-Aware doesn't. You also need to make sure you have an antivirus program such as AVG Free (http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10503939.html?tag=lst-0-1).
Also, make sure your PC is up to date. {url=http://g.msn.com/mh_mshp/98765?4DB57C7C&http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/&&HL=Microsoft+Update&CM=Navigation&CE=productResources]Microsoft Update[/url] will update windows.
Also, if your ISP offers a Web Accelerator, you should use it. Web Accelerators speed up the downloading of web pages by having a server compress information before sending it to you. Some also prefetch links that are contained in sites you are reading and download them silently so that they are right there when you click the link. Some also cache information from a page and whenever you download an image or something from a page you have visited before, the server will tell you if you have an identical copy of the image in your cache so you don't have to waste time DLing it. Google offers a free Accelerator (http://webaccelerator.google.com/index.html), but if your ISP offers an accelerator, you probably should use theirs instead.
Also, if you use Firefox (www.getfirefox.com), you can install some extentions to speed stuff up. Fasterfox (https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&id=1269) tweeks your browser's cacheing settings, enables prefetching like an accelerator, and enables pipelining, which means it request multiple parts of a page at once if you have idle bandwidth. It also tweeks the popup blocker to block popup ads generated via flash exploit.
Also, blocking banner ads can help. Ads take time to download, so not downloading em might speed things up. If you use Firefox, you can install Adblock Plus (https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&id=1865) (adblock plus has added features that adblock doesn't have, if you have adblock and want to switch, clear all your filters, remove adblock and install plus). You may also want to install Filterset G. (https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&id=1136) to preload adblock with filters. You need to close FF and reopen it for the installations to take effect.
Also, I doubt this will help, but your PC may have heavy hard drive fragmentation. Fragmentation ocourse whenever you install, uninstall, or otherwise move large files around on your box. Whenever you erase a file, the computer doesn't git rid of it, rather it simply tells the file system that the file can be overwritten. When the computer wants to add files, it normally just writes to the next emply space. When that fills it jumps to the next empty space. This can mean that if you remove a few smaller files and replace em with bigger files that your hard drive read write head will have to jump around to find all of the big file. To speed things up, you need to defragment your hard disk from time to time. Defragmenting rearranges everything so that all of the information for each file is in one spot. To defragment your box in windows go to my computer, and on drive C: right click and hit properties (http://www.illhostit.com/files/3647593549781961/mycomputer.TIF)(or if you have multiple HDs or multiple partions, do this with all hard drives) and hit the tools tab and click defragment (http://illhostit.com/files/2017444099572485/tools.PNG). When the defragmenter comes up, hit defragment (http://illhostit.com/files/2978528959412745/defragmenter.JPG) (this will look different in windows 2000-95.) Depending uppon the filesystem you use, the size of your hard drive, the amount of free space, the amount of used space, the RPM speed, and the level of fragmentation, the time it takes to defragment a drive will vary significantly. If your drive uses FAT (AKA FAT16) or FAT32 you will need to defrag more often than NTFS. Also, Linux users who use ext3 will rarely need to defrag, although to defrage ext3 you must first obtain an ext2 defrager and downgrade your filesystem to ext2, defrag, then reupgrade to ext3.
If your PC is extreamly old, you may have a 32kbs modem. If so, you should buy either a 56kbs modem, or buy a new box cause 32 kbs modems havent been made for years. Also, if you have a slow connection, you may want to only have one app use the web at a time. Meaning if you are browsing, you may want to not use an IM program.
Also, if KoC is still going extreamly slow, it may be the crappy KoC servers.
Anyways, I hope things are running faster after all this.
