Armory page extremely slow and fix solution

The armory page loads unusually slower than the past. I thought there's something wrong with it and my IT tech support offered a solution.

If you are using Windows XP:
1. Go to Start -> Run

2. Type the following: notepad %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

3. Go to the last line right after localhosts and add the new entries:

127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 adserver.kingsofchaos.com
127.0.0.1 ads.realtechnetwork.net

4. Save and close the notepad

5. Go to Start -> Run

6. Type the following: ipconfig/flushdns

Alternatively, you can install an ad-blocker software.

The armory page should load much faster. whew. If you have better solutions or new advertisement server addresses, kindly contribute here please.

Yeah, what that does is it explicitly specifies the ip address your computer should use when resolving the host name - setting it to use the local computer's address (127.0.0.1) as the host.
Unless you are running a webserver on your computer it will deny access, thus blocking it.
There is a more complete list of ads on a tip sheet for rrac on their forums ;)


Unfortunately it is incompatible with d3, so you'll have to turn it off when clicking :(

And now after using your method my armory works ideally

that line will cause clickwhore to think you are a fakeclicker. A friend of mine got banned beacase of it. It has something to do with the bastards that used to redirect koc to make it look like they clicked.
