Only people sharing password cant login. Or just buy a virusscanner and dont run illegal programs / recruiters..

I love it when people reffer to thier accounts being stolen as being hacked. 9 Times out of ten, they know that one other person at least had thier password, usually. Im not pointing fingers here, but theres only a few ways your account can actually get "hijacked" (the word I would use in this case). Either you have a buddy thats just a bit too close to you and knew your password, or you downloaded some crap or some crap was downloaded on to your computer that stole your login info, and in the most unusual case, someone could have guessed your password and got it right. Either way, its not our fault:P

If you have only downloaded that, then someone who isnt really nice who "didnt" had your password stole it. But no cheating accusisation <-- or something :P, that guy "didnt" had your password I only say Your own fault...

Why would he lie about being hacked?

It doesn't gain him anything - he was merely asking if anyone else has also lost their account in the same way?

By the looks of the answers NO but then again from reading some of these answers I'm not sure that they would have noticed yet (dinosaur syndrome) :)

I have played since age 1 and have never been hacked. I make certain my computer has good security software. I actually know of a program that you can use to keylog someone's computer (I have never done it, I just know about it. A friend showed me this program, but for obvious reasons I wont give a link to it). This particular program lets you do just about anything to your victems PC. Make certain you have good antivirus, antispyware (no, antispyware isn't the same as antivirus, and Norton and McAffre are lousy at detecting spyware, also MS antispyware aint too great either.) Also, do you have a firewall (not windows XP firewall, a good firewall.) Well here is how you can help reduce your risk of being "hacked".

1. Don't download anything from a PM you get in KoC unless you know the person.
2. Don't join a recruiter from an alliance you have never heard of.
3. Don't use a program like password manager on a public computer (or for better security, just dont use any remember password featuers period.)
4. Don't ever give away your password to a friend.
5. Remeber, KoC will not ever ask for your password via pm.
6. Don't give away your KoC e-mail account password to a friend.
7. Dont let your KoC e-mail account expire
8. Don't use mailinator for you KoC e-mail sign up, use a real e-mail.
9. Don't use the same password for KoC as you use for other things.
10. Install Ad-Aware (http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10045910.html?part=dl-ad-aware&subj=dl&tag=top5)on your PC and update then run a deep scan every week. (Never install antispyware products from a banner ad, those are almost always spyware.)
11. Install antivirus software. If your ISP doesn't provide you with free antivirus software and you don't want to pay for Nortan or McAfree use AVG free (http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10342876.html?tag=lst-0-1).
12. Use a firewall. Windows XP firewall is too weak for good security. It rarely ask you whether you want to grant access to the internet. Use either the firewall provided by your ISP or Zone Alarm (http://www.download.com/ZoneAlarm/3000-10435_4-10434530.html?tag=lst-0-3) which is a free firewall service.
13. Be careful when you use P2P software such as limewire or Kazaa. Avoid running .exe files from P2P software.
14. Don't launch an .exe file from an e-mail you recieved from someone you don't know.

i might be able to do something :)

Somehow I doubt that.

It is sad that people feel that "hacking" this game is amusing.
My suggestion is to tell the admins anyway. If they know, then they might be able to link this player to other accounts that have been "hacked".

If you want to, you could try e-mailing rocco@kingsofchaos.com but you said you didn't want to. I have heard of people getting their accounts back from doing that, but it may take a while. I would advise you to try that before quitting the game.
