Hey y'all,

It seems to me that the game is quite illogical. I mean, you attack players, you lose, fair enough. But i always always seem to lose to people who have hardly any trained soldiers or weapons. I mean, they'll have, say, 100 soliders, 10 will be trained and 5 will have weapons and the rest will be untrained. Why is it that they can beat me despite myself having more than twice that in trained soldiers and all of them with weapons? I'd appreciate any thoughts because it's confused me to hell.

Cheers!

It's not the quantity of units and weapons that counts towards the success of an attack, it's your SA (strike action) and their DA (defensive action). Someone can have a surprisingly good DA with few units and weapons, depending on what the weapons are and what upgrades the person has. Due to the prevalence of sabotage most people seem to be buying upgrades early, as they can't be sabotaged.

If you have 50 units with knives and you're attacking someone with 5 trained units all holding invisibility shields, they will almost certainly win, especially if your target's upgrades are better than yours.

The best thing to do is to spy on prospective targets until you find someone with a DA which is significantly lower than your SA (strike action), then attack.

If their DA is not low enough when compared to your SA your attack may still fail because there is a large random factor involved.

In case you don't know, you should also always try to attack people with more units than you, otherwise you steal a smaller proportion of their gold than you would form a larger army.

I hope this helps. :)

Try having fewer trained attack soldiers with better weapons and train excess soldiers to sentries / spies, and as Rincewind said, attack people with a bigger army to get a better pillage rate. If you are attacking people, you need to build your sentry up, as some idiot is likely to retaliate and sab you. Check your intel log regularly (or at least before attacking someone) and if you have caught any sabotage attempts, recycle your weapons (sell and buy back).

I thought of something like that, just it seems to happen every other time i attack someone.....either i have really bad luck or there's something i am missing out on....oh well, i shall discover with time.

Cheers anyway :D
