You don't need a pet to rake in the dough, just some gold and a little luck. However, if you race and win, even more dough will come your way! See below for details!
Rules:
1: Follow all rules of DS forums
2: Limit of one pet per person
3: This is not a "judged" thread, so you may be participating in this even if you are in a quest/battle/different continent.
4: Main characters that are animals are not pets.
5: Any other animal is a "pet" as long as your character owns it, horse, cavallo, angelbird, whatever.
Information:
Every two weeks, a new contest is held. There is a sign up period, followed by a betting period, followed by a "race" period and judging period. Depending on when it starts, here's the breakdown.
First 3 days are for signups
Next 3 are for betting
Next 6 are for Racing
Last 2 are for Judging
All contestants will be piled into one big derby, where they all race against each other. The race consists of each racer making one post for their pet, wherein they race. These are then judged, and the person with the highest score wins.
Judging is out of 40 points
1: 20/20 is for Realism, based upon description of your pet, etc...
2: 10/10 is for Environment Interaction, basically the race track place, and the crowd, etc...
3: 10/10 is for Not Sucking. This involves hitting that little "SpellCheck" button, making sure judges can understand your grammar, and for having a generally interesting post.
Money Money Money:
Even if you do not race, you have the opportunity to cash in big.
Anyone can place bets, and if the person you bet on wins, you get all the money in the pot. It's divided evenly between anyone else who's won as well.
Of course, to make this more lucrative, I will "donate" the magical moderator money into the pot. When it reaches 100 gold, 100 gold is automatically added. At 200, 300 is added. At 300, 400 is added, etc...
If someone bets more than 100 gold, they are automatically guaranteed at least 25% of their bet returned to them if they lose. If they win, then it's up to how many people that entered that decides how much they get.
Of course, the winner of the race is also rewarded. If there are two entrants, they receive 50 gold. 3-4 entrants is 100 gold. 5-6 is 200 gold. 7-8 is 300. If more than that enter, then we will decide amount at the time.
