Hi...
I am a n00b at purchasing new computer equipments......Resently my dad got a motherboard that have the hyperthreading function....and it has the description: hyperthreading technology fools the operating system and make it believe it was using two CPU and thus speed up the speed of the computer. CPU must be compatiable for this function to work. (I summarized it in my own word, and sry 4 my grammer). So my Questions are: does hyperthreading technology work as same as overclocking the CPU? How much does it actually speed up the CPU? If it work like overclocking does it over heat and shorten the cpu's life? finally, if anyone have this technology on their mother board would u suggest getting it?

AND YES I AM PRETTY DUMB........

Hyperthreading works way better than overclocking because the processor can act like it's a dual processor and work on two processes at once.
