My friend recently got me Knoppix Linux (the distribution that runs from CD.)

I'm wondering, has anyone tried this? Is it any good? Does the fact that it runs from CD cause it to lag?

Used it for studying my OS exam a year ago, quite a handy tool if you don't want to run a GNU/linux machine all the time. Don't remember exactly if it ran from the cd, last I remembered, it just installed linux in my ram memory so when I reboot when I'm done, I'm working under windows again. Meh, shotty memory I have, getting old I guess. Anyway, good tool and not slow if that's what you're afraid off, at least not in my experience ...

Alright. I tried it, it worked nicely.

I found out it boots within a few minutes, and I can boot it into my school computers and have full access *evil grin*.
