Ok there are borders of sadness, i don't mean this to be a flame, i just was wondering what people think. I admit i have too many posts, but the forum is kinda interesting adn in the first few days there were so many threads that i had an interest in, so the 20 posts a day is kinda explainable. But how the hell do people hit over 200. I think something is wrong when there is a post average of 60 a day. Anyone else think so, i know its not a competition, but common there must be more to life than GUA

Heh, If you are 80-120, if on the latter, then thats 0 posts a day.
that isnt that much considering.
But if you make decent posts, then whats the problem, I have yet to make more than 1 post in spam. Unlike some guys who jsut spammed the first day. Which sucked.

So you choose not to include the ones in the village that you got as counting? Interesting that you hasten to attack people and yet ignore your own faultings. And I got about 20 posts from spam + chat so hell if you want an admin can take them away but they'd better do it to everyone that did and you'll see that a large differance to other members post counts.

People who have hit over 200 or 100 like ganks just to be cool or trying to get the number one slot are just plain sad, thats about all i can say. its pathetic

They have no life. 40+ posts = People have too much time on their hands

Says the guy who has in his sig that hes pacman champion of what I assume is the GUA Arcade? Very original there ;) I don't see what the point in making threads like this are but O well. If people post a lot and get a high post count then fair enough, sure members like kirby and ganks just do it so they are 'number #1' and I agree its pathetic at times but live with it.

Yes yes, quite sad

Why isn't there a > 160 option?

Not that I would choose it...
When you look at the posts of those members, it's discussing. The crap some of them pull. Once you've stated you opinion in a thread, that's enough. Feel free to rebut someone else's arguments, but just because someone has slipped a post in after you doesn't mean it's time to state your opinions again. Just because there is a post in between your near duplicate posts, doesn't mean you aren't spamming.

Add some damn content people, before warnings start to flow.

Not true Seta. In the past 4 days I have been out everyday. Doing stuff, i have a very active life.
I wont be able to post as much because of school starting today, but it doesnt matter anyway.
I havent slut threaded/posted, or anything, I have posted once in Spam and Chat, most of my posts have been in Entertainment and Hobbies.
160th post

80-120 more is way to much for only 4 days.

Same goes for me seta. I couldn't get on the net cause I didn't have power from mid Sunday to 1:00 thursday. I still manage to find threads I like and post in them to get a decent post count.

Ps I am not doing it only to be first place. I am doing it to beat loco and fallen. Loco cause I told him I would and fallen cause he critisises me and others for gaining 20 (that is around what I had if not more) posts in spam and chat before post count was taken away while he had 30+ or so.

Ive got tons of posts. Want to know why? Because the admins didn't make the village not count toward post counts the first 3 or 4 days.

I think it does still but I might just be slow.

Also to StephenKenny01 and anyone else interested: I know yall doun't like the way I post but untill I get a mod that I respect or takes the situation maturealy I am not going to even try to change my posting. SK01 you seem to not like me and I think it is because I postred in the ROKFD's lounge when I wasn't told I could or couldn't. like I told Krysten, I read the first post twice though before posting and stopped as soon as it went up.

but I still dont know how you have all those posts besides making spam and mods not doing anything or posting in the village, but still, 200+ posts in the village?!?

iwishiknew
8th September 2004, 03:02 PM
no I made probaly abour 30 or so in the village. The others were 20 or so from spam and the others were from searching for a thread I liked, reading it, and then posting in it or creating my own threads.

The ROKFD thing didn't make me happy, but I don't hold grudges. I'm too old for that.
But your thread on sexual molestation lacked any substantial content (after the first 3-4 posts) for about 25 posts. That's the kind of thing I don't like.

However, once I gave you something to talk about, you picked it up and are doing a fine job. No complaints here.

I'm certainly not one to throw stones at high post counts right now. I have a really high post count because I have spent a lot of time here, checking out everything new and trying to figure out what is going on with T'L. I really sincerely doubt that anything I have posted is truly spam. I know that once we go into a more long-term situation I will be "in the middle" in terms of post count.

And that's fine with me. Quality over quantity, seven days a week.

8th September 2004, 05:40 PM
Well... i think i'm the most pathetic one right here.... this will be my 2nd post (woohoo, i'll be doubling my count).

Anyway, whats the good thing of having a high post count?

Earendil
8th September 2004, 05:51 PM
There's no reason to have a high post count. It just shows you're a "good, active" member.

I personally think 20 posts a day is the max anyone should have, unless they're involved in training or modding in the boards.

There isn't enough interesting stuff to happen when a forum reopens to make you post more than ten times a day. I might get 100 posts by like day 15, but certainly not in the first few days. Anyone who already has like 200+ posts needs to stop eating ham wrapped in pizza and needs to start running at least two miles and doing other exercises for at least half an hour 3-4 times a week.

btw. Locke, thats an interesting quote :D

Locke

Many people are led into believing the more posts you have, the "cooler" or "more elite" you are. It's not quantity that matters in a forum, it's quality. And thanks, I love the quote.

Yeah Locke, you're really proving your quality over quantity point here. Whatever.

Anyway, I'd just like to say that if you have over 100 posts by now, then you should probably slow it down a little. I see some people just want to be #1, some people want to look cool for the newbs, some people want to genuinely post a lot because they see lots of threads they'd like to post in.

If people want to post a lot, thats alright by me. Unless they're just posting crap every time they see an opening, or making threads out the ass, they're fine by me. I'd say 50 would be a lot for one day, but back in my old day, I did 200 posts a day for about a week straight. Thats a crapload. So compared to that, they aren't too bad. If 250 is the most, and its been like 4 days, thats only like 60 posts a day. Its a lot, but not too bad.

Well coming from the person who has the highest post count on the forum (I am not bragging) I wasn't realy led to beleive the higher the post count the better you are. In fact Most people complaigned when I said I had the highest post count in threads I commonly visited.

Ps I am not doing it only to be first place. I am doing it to beat loco and fallen. Loco cause I told him I would and fallen cause he critisises me and others for gaining 20 (that is around what I had if not more) posts in spam and chat before post count was taken away while he had 30+ or so.

I said that if yall couldn't tell. Those are the main reasons why I posted but I would like to add something on to it. I do it for myself. I am not realy the best at anything, in fact I suck at most everything, so having a place where I can say that I have a higher post count then you kinda makes me feel like I am good at something. Maybe the other top 5 posters are like this.

Magus. Seriously. Find one quote of mine that has no merit in this forum. I do not spam or believe in spam. I don't even think we should have a forum topic for spam. I've been managing forums for over 10 years and 95% of the time, the people who post the most, spam the most and make the least read-worthy posts.

10 years? How old are you, 25?

Also A contradiction to what you just stated is Oak. he had triple what the other top posters had in posts and very few of them were spam. Also if we got rid of spam all the letter wars would move to the BA or such and become true spam. If you were moderating forums for 10 years you would know this.

(hopes it is good)

Also it is easy to obtain the amount of posts I have as of now. All you have to do is look for active threads.

Also I feel that now that Gua is new that some of my threads or suggestions or posts or just complete no-life-ness will maybe become well known on gua in a year or so.

Ps. Why is Oak considered a legend but people with over 160 posts on here considered to be spammers or geeks?

The women on the forum will be :)

He wasnt a legend because of the amount of all of his posts...he was a legend because of the quality of all those posts. Therein lies the difference.

No thanks, I don't get off on anything relating to my genital region involving the word "torture." Pain and that area of my body don't go well. Just like sharp metal things and that area of my body don't go together. Ever. Happened when I was a baby, but that's only because I couldn't bitch-slap the doctor. I'm pretty sure I cried my face off... Then I grew a new one.

And yes Oak is a legendary poster because all of his posts had entertainment value and were only trash when it was necessary. Basically, Oak is ten times the poster I am, and 2098746092485024 times the poster most other people are. Which means I have a bit of an ego problem... Dammit.

Krystin, you're mean. CR obviously doesn't want you, so come on back. ;)

RE: Oak's high post count. Oak was awesome. He is hilarious, and intelligent. His posts, while numerous, we're of high quality. It's the quality of a post that matters, not the quantity.
