The smell of the halls and class rooms. Desks, books, backpacks, and for some lockers. When Summer hit it felt like we were finished with these items for ever~! But now, as Summer has come to an end and people congragrate back to the class rooms to try and fill our small brains with yet more knowledge that some are paying a good price for, and yet will probably end up forgetting at least 20% of it....It makes one wonder, where did the Summer go?

Good morning class, and welcome back! Now that summer is over, where do you go from here? What are your plans for the next school year? And after this school year, what is beyond it for you?

Sure you get to see your firends every day but besides that... its crap. The whole sitting down infront of a text book for hours on end reading worthless crap really gets annoying and its so tasking.

And my summer went by quickly, i had to go to China for a choir trip and it was effectively crap. The rest was taken up with rehearsels for a opera i'm involved with.

Im like over half way through my school year over in here we have four terms that are about 9-10 weeks long the first two terms are one lot of subjects and the last two are anothere lot there are some subjects we do for a full here and we have a two week holidays between them and we finish about two weeks before christmas and the rest of the weeks of the year are no school. Im also in year 10. Im just glad that the next holidays are only a couple of weeks away :).

My school began over month ago already, hell first test week is coming up in two weeks.. I began high school this year and it´s been more or less the same as before for me.

Finland has a somewhat different system from america, here you don´t need to necessarily continue to High school, 9 years of school are what you have to do, then there´s several ways of continuing, stop studying (not really wise), continue to high school, or continue to professional school in wich you choose one job you wish to learn in 3 years. There´s a couple more options as well, one for example being that you sign a contract with some company, you work for them and they take care of educating you.

A block scheduling is this. You only have four periods aday but they last for 81 minutes save third period. There are only two lucnhes and they are 30 minutes long. My school day goes like this.

First peiod
Second Period
Lunch (30 minutes)
Third period (52 minutes)
Forth period
Get out.

Though Lunch and Third period can be changed around.

Well in year 10&11 we have 6 subjects a semester(2 terms/ sem 1= first half and sem 2= secound half of a year). So on mondays i would have to do 6 subjects that day and from Tuseday to Friday you do 3 subjects in each of those days. I start school at 8:40am and finish 3pm, the first 20 mins is Home Group then 9am i go to first lesson i would hav a 100min lesson or two 50min lesson then reasess(20 min break) then either a 100min lesson or two 50min lesson then lunch ( 40 min break) then eithere a 100min lesson or two 50 min lessons then we go home. We only do 50 min lessons on monday.

Well I gernealy do to. i hate our school's D.E.A.R. thingy which stands for Drop Everything And Read. Basicaly for the first 20 minutes of second period you read a book then write about what you read.

Ha, I dont mind going back to school, if you think its going to suck, and its going to be the longest day ever, then it will be.
Besides the first day of school in England, you never really do much, you just sit around, get new books, and meet new teachers, and catch up with your mates of course.
Besides, I am one of those guys, I am smart enough to scrape in, but if I tried then Id get higher.
Also I normally dont see my school mates during holidays much, my main friends go to differnt schools, and I spend most of the time with them.
So the first day is meeting up for me.

College owns the shit out of high school--the advantage being that you can choose your own schedule based on your party habits. I for one can party every day and rock and roll all night because my schedule is so fucking key.

Starting, started high school. Anyone heard about the IB program which starts in Gr. 11, and goes on to Gr. 12? Well, I got into a prepartory program for that one. Its called pre-IB. And there's one thing I want to say: the workload's too much. I got homework on the first day, a geography pop quiz on the second, a music theory pop quiz today, and will be getting a math quiz tomorrow...these tests probably wouldn't count for report cards, though...too much work!!!

'K, done with the rumblings, my plans are, ace all my classes, not get kicked out of Pre-IB, practice enough to pass my strings class with flying colors, and try to actually remember all that french I'll be learning...and somehow manage to squeeze in time for T'L, and social stuff...gonna be hard...

I just had my first day back to school... I wish I could have stayed home playing in the WoW stress test... because as soon as I got home, they took the server down for maintenance! Anyway, I moved (still the same school though) so now I get to take a bus. And I hate buses. I got home at the same time I used to get home, and I used to spend an hour hanging out with friends, as opposed to waiting for the bus to come (they leave without people...)

But as far as school goes, the first day wasn't too bad. There's all the "introduce yourselves" junk that, in my opinion, is the worst time of the school year. So far, my teachers seem ok, but final judging on that will really take a while. And I have 5 classes out of the 8 with Daedalus, which helps :D.
