This week's spirit is Midori, a melon liqueur which is bright green in colour. The cost varies, supermarkets will generally sell it at around £12 for a 0.7l bottle, however it's not always available in local supermarkets. I have had to resort to buying it from more specialist shops in the past and have paid as much as £15 a bottle. I spent a while debating with myself as to which spirit to bring in first. I wanted to go with rum, a fairly staple ingredient in many cocktails including a few of my favourites, however, many of these require several other spirits as well. Since the whole point of this series is to build up a collection of spirits over time, rum would not be a good starting point.
